{"id":1467,"date":"2010-06-05T22:24:55","date_gmt":"2010-06-06T02:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/davidtallacksen.com\/blog\/?p=1467"},"modified":"2010-06-05T22:24:55","modified_gmt":"2010-06-06T02:24:55","slug":"saturday-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/davidtallacksen.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/05\/saturday-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Saturday Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend is one of the few <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/findapark\/feefreeparks.htm\" target=\"_blank\">free days you can get access to some national parks<\/a>, so Adrienne and I headed over to the one closest to us &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/edis\/planyourvisit\/edison-day-2010.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Edison National Historic Park<\/a>. Thomas Edison called West Orange, NJ home, just a town over from us. A museum is there along with remnants of his industrial complex, which once employed 10,000 workers. And just up the block, in America&#8217;s first planned community, is his home and estate. Tonight an authentic ragtime orchestra played an outdoor concert on the grounds, so we went and checked it out.<\/p>\n<p>And just down the street is a place where <a href=\"http:\/\/slice.seriouseats.com\/archives\/2010\/03\/dear-slice-try-orange-new-jerseys-star-tavern-for-bar-pizza.html\" target=\"_blank\">some say you can get the best pizza in New Jersey<\/a>. David had been wanting to check it out, and this was the perfect opportunity. Pizza was good, classic tavern pizza.
