This morning as I stepped out the door to go to work (the new job is going well, by the way) I noticed these white flakes falling from the sky. It took me a second to realize it was snowing since we’ve had so very little snow this season.

It was still snowing when I got off the train in the city, and I saw a lot of people using umbrellas. I wanted to say to these people, “listen, I know you may not recognize it because it’s been so long, but this snow, not rain!” Another of those odd New York customs I suppose. Alas, the snow had pretty much turned to rain by the time I arrived at my office 15 minutes later.

On the other side of the country at my sister’s house in Washington, they’ve got more snow than they know what to do with. They’ve got about 50 inches of snow, and it’s certainly piling up as it slides off their roof as demonstrated in these pictures taken from their driveway and inside the front door.Molly’s roof with snow
