After a very busy first day, we took a bit slower pace Saturday. After sleeping in a bit, we had some homemade bagels and fruit for breakfast. Then we got ourselves together and out the door for a visit to Lady Liberty. Took the scenic route through Battery Park City and along the Hudson waterline, then found a very long line – perhaps an hour’s wait or more – just to purchase tickets for the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. As we got in line, two gentlemen offered us three tickets (Adrienne had not joined us) for $20. I looked at them and found them to be genuine, so the exchange was made. Normally we’d pay $12 per ticket, and of course have to wait in line! After maybe 30 minutes in line for the ferry, we were on our way to Liberty Island.

After walking around a bit, it was back on the ferry to Ellis Island.

Then back on the ferry to go back to NYC. Ended up waiting mayb2 20 minutes or more in open water as the ferry waited for an open pier. I took a nice little nap – all the walking and sight-seeing takes a lot out of you!

On our way back we went down Wall Street and saw the NYSE as well as, right across the street, the JP Morgan building.

We all took a little rest after getting home, then commenced plans for homemade pizza for dinner.

After the pizza, we watched the movie “Jarhead,” which we had from Netflix. Had a little dessert crepe with Nutella in a half-time break. After the movie we prepped some monkey break for Sunday morning breakfast, then it was off to bed.
