Due to the lack of updates throughout the weekend, this one’s gonna be a biggie! Andrea got in quite later than expected, apparently due to weather. Adrienne met as at WBGO, and we grabbed a bit and headed to see the New Jersey Ironmen soccer game. They’re pretty bad. But it was still fun.
Saturday we got a pretty late start, read about it and more after the jump.
Saturday morning we celebrated Adrienne’s birthday!
We eventually headed into the city. Grabbed a quick snack at Grey’s Papaya, then walked around Chelsea and the East Village, including some characters in Thompkins Square Park:
Then over to SoHo and eventually found our way to Tio Pepe for some paella dinner. Afterwards we had our inaugural dessert at local ice cream favorite Torico’s. Then watched some movie that I can’t remember the name of, it was ok, nothing notable.
Sunday morning while Adrienne went running, I took Andrea on a chilly bike ride around Liberty State Park:
Then we had some homemade English Muffins for breakfast. Ok, so it was my first time. A little burnt. But still pretty good.
Sunday’s goal was to visit MoMA, the Museum of Modern Art. We got in free thanks to Adrienne’s employer. Adrienne had fun:
Andrea was entranced:
I had my music playing:
Here’s what I thought of it (the art, not the music):
Here’s Adrienne and Andrea looking out onto the MoMA courtyard:
After MoMA, we headed up the East Side and then through Central Park:
Had a great dinner at Saigon Grill, then headed home. Relaxed and played some Uno. Another tiring but good day.
So far today, Andrea and I have just hung out, gone jeans shopping, done some cooking and relaxing while Adrienne’s been at work. I’m now posting this from my work, where I’m at a board meeting. Then it’ll be home to make some pizza!
Andrea leaves tomorrow afternoon, and tomorrow is a busy day for me with a remote recording, then I’m off to Vegas for a week-long conference!
