I’m going to defy my Midwestern/Lutheran upbringing and venture to speak of anything controversial with this editorial pic I took this morning on my way to work:
Some people may think the next four years will be just one big poop sandwich, but no matter which way you lean (be careful, because too far and you’ll fall over!), this is a pretty amazing moment. Thanks to my day (and night…) gig, I’m lucky enough to play a little more active role the whole thing, and it’s nights like these that remind me why radio and the bare human voice can be such a powerful thing.

I completely agree wit you. Despite my usual leaning toward the “red side”, this time I was for the “blue side”. My hope is that the change in office does present opportunity for change in politics and less bi-partisan politics, less of “because that’s the way its always done” thinking. While I generally think smaller government is better in this case, my view is that the change needed outweighs the desire for smaller government. BO’s speech was historic, with overtones of a great speech by MLK. Job well done, BO.

Oops…think I meant “more” bi-partisan politics after reading again. Whatever the case, can’t the government be one big happy family and get along?!? That’s what I meant. Forget whos side you are on and let’s get it fixed.

I think you all know which way I lean, so I have to say that the night was a good one for me. It was so nice to cry tears of joy this time around! Yes, I agree with Obama’s positions on most issues, but I really think that he will try to build consensus and do what is best for us at home and abroad (I really can’t understand why Bush did a lot of what he did). I look forward to having a president who is not afraid to show that he is intelligent and can be rational and thoughtful in his responses. Right now I can say that I’m proud to be an American for the first time in quite a few years.
