It’s hot, we’re trying to pack, blah blah blah, and Dudley’s showing Sylvester who’s boss.

Celli always likes to help read the newspaper.

Dinner was salmon burgers, done on the cast iron stove-top since we’re out of charcoal:

Along with the packing come new empty places for kitties to explore.

A Sunday drive took us back out to the ‘burbs to check on the results of our garlic-juice mosquito spray. Let’s just say we’re not quite convinced yet. But there are many variable to control for, so who knows. We’ll keep the hope alive.

We now have a trash can full of weeds, and we’ve just barely touched the surface. That area where Adrienne’s standing is actually a driveway! And the green over the the right should be grass, but isn’t.

Despite the mosquitoes, we remain hopeful we’ll be moving in in the next two weeks, but time will tell.

Catching up after a vacation in the mountains – which house did you buy?

Don’t even mention mosquitos (aka Evil Swarm of Death.) We’ve been battling them all summer – yuck. Let me know if you’re garlic concoction works. We’ve resisted toxic chemicals but it’s this bad next year, I’m going for the Scorch-the-Earth stuff!

It’s always fun/interesting to read through your blog postings and thus “live” closer to you and Adrienne. I hope the garlic concoction spray works for you, but I’ve talked to people here in the gardening business who’ve told me you should not be wasting your time on that exercise. Have to use the commercial mosquito killing stuff.

Lu: No house bought just yet, but we’re hoping to close by the end of this month. Though it looks less and less hopeful everyday. And it’s the same house you see in our ‘burb-bound links.

Dad: well, we still hope it will do some good. We’d like to be good friends of nature, so long as nature is good friends with us…
