Babies are fun(ny)

As Mal’s dad, I see my primary role as one to mess with her. In doing so we’re finding some of the genetic easter eggs, so to speak. In this case, what I think of as the Makulec eyes (reference any picture of Mom where her eyes aren’t at half mast, or Dan at a young age). Watch for when the lights get turned off:

I don’t usually post too much of this kind of stuff, but this really made me laugh out loud.

Sometimes I see photos we take and they just need a little tweaking in photoshop.

Don’t have much to share from our trip up North – I spent a lot of time working. Which you can see some of the results of that here. But here are a couple photos from the 1.5 days of vacation we got. We did enjoy some good Ethiopian and Afghan food as well.

Memories: Aerotech motors

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Once we young model-rocket builders hit a certain level, we no longer spoke of the Estes ‘engines’ but rather purchased ‘motors’ from a company called Aerotech. I remember drooling over the motors that required special permits to travel via ground (no air travel allowed!) because they were so explosive. I say all this to share with you this video, of an interview with a guy who recently launched his iPhone in a model rocket. It’s really not all that interesting – it is rather geeky – but fast forward to 1:17 in the interview to see video of his first attempt.

If you cracked up as hard as I did, and watched several times, well, we’re probably brothers! But I hope you all enjoy-
