Adrienne is from the Northwest and has a fondness for tater tots. I like bananas, and live in Jersey City. With that, I present two food facts I learned from listening to a Splendid Table podcast: The first tater tot was created on the Oregon/Idaho border in 1953, of what was previously used as cow feed. The first banana sold in the US was sold in Jersey City, in 1870.

We quit having tater tots heated/served within the confines of our abode a number of years ago when the kids were all gone and Ma figured it was time we quit eating those “bad for you” things. But this last Sunday, instead of someone fixing an Easter meal, some of us decided to follow through on my suggestion we go out somewhere for Easter for the first time I can ever think of. We went to Hoffman House for their brunch buffet. And one of the wonderful food items they had there was a hot pot full of tater tots. They were soooooo good. In fact, they were so good I passed up even trying the mac-and-cheese right next door. I like bananas, also, but tater tots are now a treat for me.
