Of the people I know that view this blog, it looks like we’re the only ones with sunny skies this Memorial Day morning. And not to make you jealous, but boy, is it beautiful! If I could bottle this weather up… hmmm, actually, now that I think about it, maybe I wouldn’t appreciate it as much if I always had it in store. Anyway, this is the kind of weather that reminds me of cool-breeze summer mornings of long ago… it makes me feel productive – so I know I must get that from Mom. Because with this weather, you know Mom would have been up an hour ago, and already be planting something in the garden, or have half the windows washed (from the outside!) or something. Even though I’ve already washed the dishes, I’m going to try my best to only be somewhat productive, because this is a holiday. Enjoy it!

Response to “aside: weather in a bottle”

Dad

This morning in Rockford is a mix. On the warm(er) side starting out at 65 degrees while on my way to Denny’s for a church men’s b’fast gathering at 7:00, and 71 degrees on the way back home 1-1/2 hours later. Kind of a hazy sun with rain predicted, but not yet in sight. Had rain during the night and one heck of a thunder clap not too far from the house about 1:30 or so this morning that knocked a framed stained-glass thingee off a window ledge in the family room.

No great plans for the day here. Ma is working in her “factory” trying to salvage a quilt that’s to be made from squares produced by a bunch of different quilters (made to different standards, apparently). I’m thinking of maybe starting a “campfire” at Grandma T’s to reduce the pile of tree parts Dan and Doug stacked up there. I’ve got my monthly report to get going on, etc., etc., etc.

Hooked up our TV digital converter box late yesterday and can now pick up 5 digital TV channels over the air, even without a digital antenna. Would like to get going on replacing our outdoor antenna/rotor/wiring to see what that would do for us.

Have a great Memorial Day!
