With the leaves mostly down now, saw this up in the tree. First thought it was a turkey hanging out, but looks to be a nest. Wasp? Anybody know? Should I practice my baseball bat tossing skills (it’s about 20 feet up in the air)?
And every now and then these guys get along in a very sweet way.

I would wait until the middle of winter and knock it down. I don’t think they reuse nests from season to season. Does not look like a bird or squirrel nest.

Looks quite possibly like a hornet nest. They have spray cans that spray a long distance to hit them from afar, although 20 feet is probably getting close to the limit. Google, Bing, or safe search it (using Dan’s favorite search tool)
