Multimedia extravaganza

Just ’cause there’s some video thrown in for good measure. Dudley enjoys an afternoon nap. Thankfully he seems to be doing a little better since the last round of meds.

One less hairy than the other.

Turkey day prep. We really don’t go fancy for Thanksgiving.

Mallory enjoyed hanging with the chefs.

After dinner Adrienne announced we were taking a family photo. We were not all equally prepared.

And what better to do after a big dinner than…

And the bonus video: Mal will possibly (likely?) be transitioning to less swaddle for sleeping, so we had to try and capture this before our chances go away. When you free her from the swaddle after a nap, her arms spring up to stretch. Pretty funny.

Strike that for now. Can’t get video to work. Maybe later.

Video fixed!

aside: missing Charlie

Monday, October 31st, 2011

Charlie’s spending Halloween at the vet, who’s keeping an eye on her post- bladder biopsy surgery today. The biopsy was ‘normal’ and she’s reportedly doing fine, but I’m still wishing our crazy little furball were home instead of at a sleepover with Dr. Samson!

Crispy Bar Style Pizza, first attempt

Monday, September 26th, 2011

Recipe and comments about the style here. Don’t get ambitious like me and try to double up by doing one pizza underneath and one on the stone at the same time – this affects the stone’s ability to heat and get that crisp crust. I think the pizza was quite good, especially the ‘plain’ cheese pizza, a perfect combination of bread, sauce and cheese.

Meanwhile, Celli tested the Bumbo we just got from a friend.

Sunday mid-day nap

Mid-day, because the afternoon nap is sure to follow.

Mas Mal Muy Bien

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

Hopefully someone out there likes my play on words. And if you don’t, here are some photos. Mal got I think her third bath tonight. That’s more than Charlie’s had.

Of course I had to weigh her pre-bath. That’s my biggest bowl, gonna have to go with the roasting pan next time. She clocks in somewhere between 8lbs and 8lbs 2oz.

A shampoo calmed her down a bit.

After the bath Mal got outfitted in one of her many gifted onesie schwag.

Celli was not impressed.

Then dinner. And a nap!

More Mallory

Three in a series plus a bonus. Kid toes and sneezes must be near the top of cutest things.

A couple more photos

I promise the quantity will slow down as we lose our ‘baby-high’ and realize how sleep deprived we are. So get them while the getting’s good…

We got home from the hospital about 1:30pm today, and spent the afternoon relaxing and napping and petting the furballs. Celli was interested in what was in the baby carrier as soon as it came in the door. The others have shown only mild curiosity. Had some dinner (smoked salmon and all the fixins on homemade bagels and a salad – way better than the hospital food!) and then took Mallory for a spin in the ergobaby. So nice to be outside!

Below you can see the detail of Mallory’s wounds from the suction cup and being pushed against Adrienne’s pelvic bone – light scarring and bruising. Already looks way better than when she came out!

Counting down (and warming up)

Sunday, August 14th, 2011

As we count down the days, the cats are doing their best to make sure everything’s been tested.

Catching up with a couple Sunday pics

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

A few days before Halloween Adrienne and I went over to Montclair (two towns over) and checked out their ‘Garden Aglow’, with jack-o-lanterns lighting up the Iris Gardens. Actually, the jack-o-lanterns didn’t do too much in terms of lighting up, because they had huge security-type lights that took away any sort of atmosphere and proper lighting. Oh well. Some of the carved pumpkins were still kinda cool.

The cooler weather means the furballs are sometimes wanting more warmth:

And just last night Adrienne and I finally got around to having somewhat of a Housewarming party. More like a one-year anniversary (in the house)  party at this point. Fourteen friends and neighbors stopped by to enjoy good food and conversation. As we prepped Saturday morning, I asked Adrienne if she was planning any sort of special decoration. She said no. Then an hour or two later our doorbell rang and a florist delivered a beautiful centerpiece, thanks to Mom and Dad!

Happy Weekend!
